Rio Tinto is committed to returning the site to nature by 2025.

The mine produced more than 865 million carats of diamonds (173 metric tonnes!) in 37 years. It employed more than 1,000 very well-paid experts and the most significant proportion of women and Aboriginal miners in the Australian industry.
